Carbajal Wins Resounding Victory in Central Coast Primary Election
Santa Barbara – Today, Congressman Salud Carbajal released the following statement after finishing first in California's 24th District primary election and advancing to the November general election:
"I'm very grateful to have received such a strong showing of support from Central Coast residents in this primary election. It is a privilege to represent our community's voice in Congress, and to work everyday to strengthen our local economy and create more good-paying jobs on the Central Coast.
"During my first term in office, I've focused on bringing people together from both parties to find bipartisan solutions for working and middle-class families, to invest in drought-resistant water infrastructure, to address our immigration crisis and labor shortage, and to identify ways that we can bring down healthcare and prescription drug costs.
"The Central Coast has faced many challenges over the past year, including the deadly debris flow and Thomas Fire that continue to impact our neighbors. And we know that more challenges lie ahead, from our persistent drought conditions to the economic impacts of the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant closure.
"I'm working to address these issues head on. As your representative, I will continue listening to the needs of our community, and fighting for Central Coast residents and our values in Washington."
